Alma Elizabeth Streeter's Obituary
Mrs. Alma E. Streeter, age 97, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, February 9, 2008 in Muskegon. She was born May 26, 1910 in Newberry, MI to Matt and Mary Kumpula, and was raised by adopted parents, Addison and Sarah Robeson in Romeo, MI where she spent most of her life. She and her husband lived in Orange City, FL before coming to Muskegon in 2002. Mrs. Streeter was very active at First Baptist Church in Romeo, and attended Calvary Church while in Muskegon. She loved music, being self taught in 5 different instruments, and was a vocalist all her life. On November 26, 1930 she married David L. Streeter in Romeo, MI and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1993. SURVIVORS include 7 children, Dr. David R. (Sue) Streeter, and John D. (Mary Jane) Streeter both of Muskegon, Carol R. (Fred) Wagner of Beaverton, OR, and Thomas E. (Elly) Streeter of the Netherlands, Dr. Jack Jay of Sacramento, CA, Carol (Dr. Gordon) Weppler-Briggs of Scottville, MI, and Mary Yeske-Talladay of Milan, MI; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson. Mrs. Streeter was also preceded in death by her son, Allan W. Streeter; 3 brothers, Edward, Henry, and David Campbell; and 1 sister, Olga Campbell Wygant. SERVICES will be 11 AM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Pastor Bill Rudd officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Tuesday. Burial will take place in McCafferty Cemetery, Romeo, MI. Memorial Contributions to Calvary Church will be appreciated.
