Almin "Al" Carlson's Obituary
Mr. Almin D. “Al” Carlson, age 92, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, in Wyoming, MI. He was born on August 30, 1932, in Britton, South Dakota to Albert and Mina (Skor) Carlson. He married the former Marva Hudson on September 8, 1951. Al retired from Consumers Power after 37 years and then was self-employed for 23 years in the appliance repair service business. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 2 years during the Korean Conflict.
He was proud of, and dearly loved, all his grandchildren, especially going to their sports events. He also got a kick out of the great grandchildren. Al enjoyed basketball games, traveling and cars. He and Marva spent winters in Texas, Florida, and Arizona for over 20 years. He was also a member of First Congregational Church in Fruitport, MI.
Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marva; children, Deborah (Robert) Armstrong, Jeffrey (Renee) Carlson and Mark (Mary) Carlson; grandchildren, Scott, Melissa, Abby, Ryan, Lindsey, Chelsea, Zachary, Madyson; great grandchildren, Keola, Knox, Elin, Nash, Chase, Charlie, Charlotte, Margo, Maya, Carly and Sophie; and sister-in-law, Patricia Carlson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Carlson; sister, Donna Klecka; and brother-in-law, James Klecka.
