Althea R. Krueger's Obituary
Althea Rosalie Krueger died September 1, 2014. She was born April 17, 1917 in Muskegon to Carl and Rosalinde (Zorn) Krueger and had lived in Muskegon her entire life, until moving to Holland in September of 2007. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1935. Miss Krueger was employed as Controller/Office Manager of Grossman Department Store and was Credit Manager of Hardy-Herpolsheimer’s, retiring in 1984. She was a past president of the American Society of Women Accountants, Chapter 14, a member of the Greater Muskegon Woman’s Club, and a member of the Women’s Division Chamber of Commerce where she remained an honorary member. She was a member of McGraft Memorial Congregational Church in Muskegon, serving as Treasurer, Financial Secretary and on various boards and committees until moving to Holland, where she attended Piller Church. She enjoyed music, was a church organist for many years and enjoyed gardening and traveling. Miss Krueger is survived by a sister, Carla Ryan of Holland; nephews, Daniel (Nancy) Krueger of Holland, James (Cherie) Krueger of Rockford, IL, Charles (Sherry) Krueger of Holland and Richard (MaryAnn) Krueger of Livonia, MI; 7 grand nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews as well as several cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rosellen Krueger; a brother, John A.C. (Jack) Krueger and sister-in-law, Dorothy Krueger and brother-in-law, John Ryan. A Memorial Service will be held at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 on Saturday, September 6, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Stravers and Rev. Nieuwsma officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, September 5, from 6-8PM and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
