Mr. Alvin J. Dauten's Obituary
Mr. Alvin John Dauten, age 91, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at a local nursing home. He was born May 9, 1921, in St. Louis, MO to Rev. Theodore August Henry and Marie Anna (Koenig) Dautenhahn. In 1950 Alvin John married the former Agnes Bernice Schutter and she preceded him in death in January of 1997. He was a professional musician for well over 50 years, playing guitar in various night clubs and social events throughout West Michigan and the Midwest. While in St. Louis, MO he was part of the Russ David Big Band. Alvin had been attending the Unity Church in Lakeside. He is survived by his children, Vina Rae Dauten and Hank Williams Dauten of N. Muskegon, and Dick Charles Halley of Kingsland TX; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Elmer Dautenhahn; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Johnson, and Lydia Lange.
