Al Werner Clausen's Obituary
Mr. Al Werner Clausen, age 70, passed away Tuesday morning, January 4, 2011 at his home. He was born October 18, 1940 in Muskegon to Alvin and Mildred (Hamburg) Clausen and lived in the area his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. On June 7, 1975, he married the former Jeanne Rehn in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on August 5, 2008. He worked as a truck driver for Pacer Transit for 23 years and previously worked 12 years for Sealed Power Corp. He retired in 1994. Al was a member of Central United Methodist Church where he served as a greeter. He enjoyed traveling, model trains and railroads, hunting, fishing and collecting coins. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his new grandson. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Karen Clausen of Scotts, MI, Katie (Kevin) Hemmeke of Otsego, MI; 1 grandson, Easton Hemmeke; 2 sisters-in-law, Dolores Clausen of Fox Lake, IL, and Linda Rehn of Manistee, MI. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Ronald Glenn and Marvin Andy. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2011 at Central United Methodist Church (1011 Second St.) with Rev. Diane L. Gordon officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 3-6 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100.
