Amert B. Varner's Obituary
Mrs. Amert B. Varner, age 93, passed away early Sunday morning, February 20, 2005 at a local nursing home. Amert was born June 15, 1911, to Harry E. and Bertha Vay (Walker) Culver in Panora, Iowa. She married Allen W. Varner on September 11, 1930 in Indianola, Iowa. He passed way on July 12, 1984. Amert had been a resident of the Muskegon area since 1944 and a member of Orchard View Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school classes and was part of the Friendship Circle. Amert is survived by her 2 daughters; Carol Vay (John) Eberly of Blue Lake, and Dee Anne (Jerry) Meyers of Muskegon; a son in law, Jack Elema of Norton Shores; 10 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lou Elema on May 27, 2004, 2 grandchildren, Jimmy Elema and Nicole Lynn Peters; 3 sisters and a brother. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 23, 2003, at Orchard View Congregational Church, 2175 Marquette Ave., with Pastor Craig Cramblet officiating. Visitation will be one half hour before the service. Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIALS to Child Evangelism Fellowship, P.O.
