Amy Kleppe's Obituary
Amy Kleppe, age 57, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 29, 2022. She was born on July 31, 1965, to Ernest and Jacqueline (Wilkins) Swiftney in Muskegon. Amy was a lifelong Tri-Cities resident, and a 1983 graduate of Grand Haven High School. Despite being a proud Buccaneer, Amy was a rabid Spring Lake Laker mom and was active in Band, Theatre and Swimming. You could always find her wearing the latest t-shirt for the marching band, theatre production or swim season, and she was a perennial chaperone for Band Camp. Her career in accounting spanned several companies and industries, including the nonprofit sector. She loved her most recent position at Family Farm and Home, mainly because of her co-workers and company owners. Amy was known to everyone for her never-ending passion of taking pictures at every event, celebration, holiday, and get-together. If she said, “let me take your picture”, there was no point in trying to decline! Her heart was as big as the camera roll on her phone, and if anyone needed a helping hand, Amy was the first one in line – always with that beautiful smile of hers and a reminder to call if you needed anything else. Another lifelong passion was the Detroit Tigers, win, lose or rebuilding. Her loyalty to her team was just like her loyalty to her friends and family – unequivocal, energetic, and supercharged. Her cheesecakes and Christmas cookies and treats were legendary, and like everything else in her life, touched with a loving hand. Amy is survived by her loving husband, Andy Kleppe; daughters, Alex Kleppe, Grace Kleppe, Ella Kleppe; sister, Susan (David) Conrad; parents-in-law, Ed and Karen Kleppe; sisters-in-law, Nancy Swiftney, Judy Swiftney, Teri Carlson, Pam Tokochi; nephews, Sam Swiftney, Harry Conrad, Ben Conrad, Cody Lowe, Mike Blick; and Charlie, the family’s loving French Bulldog. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Michael Swiftney, Tony Swiftney, Sally Clark, Pat Swiftney; nephew, Shane Swiftney; and Bentley, the beloved dachshund. A Celebration of Amy’s life will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at Terra Verde Golf Course & Banquet Center (11741 Leonard Rd, Nunica, MI 49448.)
