Andrew "Andy" Bogner's Obituary
Andrew “Andy” Bogner, age 66, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017, at home. He was born October 10, 1951, in Fort Lee, Virginia, to Gerald A. and Lou (Radtke) Bogner, and he married Patricia Gibbons on June 28, 2003 in Warren, Michigan.
Andy owned and operated Bogner Sound & Music in Flint, Michigan. He was a phenomenal lead guitarist, harmonica player, and banjo player. There wasn’t a musical instrument that he didn’t love or couldn’t master. His love of the arts extended to being an avid writer, poet, photographer, collector of ancient middle eastern rugs, Tibetan artifacts, collector of vintage rock posters, and a master of the culinary arts.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia “Tricia” Bogner of Grand Haven; daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Bogner of Detroit; Libby’s mother, Michele Bourdo-Reinke of Port Huron; mother, Lou Bogner of Spring Lake; brother-in-law, Brad Wong of Portage; and nephew, Sam (Emily) Demorest of Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald A. Bogner on May 5, 2016, and his sister, Betsy Wong on December 2, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services-The Spring Lake Chapel, 213 E. Savidge Street, Spring Lake, Michigan with Rev. Ric Beattie officiating. Friends may meet the family 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, at The Spring Lake Chapel, and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
