Andrew John "Andy" LeClaire's Obituary
Andrew John “Andy” LeClaire, age 43, passed away at his home on Monday, May 4, 2026 unexpectedly due to a sudden cardiac event. Andy was born in Muskegon, Michigan on November 20, 1982 to Dr. John and Lisa (Talaga) LeClaire. A 2001 graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School, he distinguished himself early on by earning All-State honors in golf for three years, a testament to his dedication and talent. He went on to attend Michigan State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management. Andy’s life reflected a deep connection to the outdoors and he was most at home in nature. The family cabin in Luther, Michigan, set between the Twin Creek and Little Manistee Rivers, was his sanctuary. There, he found joy and peace in hunting, fishing, trapping, and working the land, fully embracing the outdoors. Family meant everything to Andy. He shared a special bond with his nieces and nephew, proudly embracing his role as the “fun uncle.” Whether it was teaching Charlie how to drive a tractor or mysteriously never winning the games he played with Nora and Lena, those moments were filled with laughter and love. Andy’s kindness extended far beyond his family. He had a generous spirit, frequently preparing and delivering food to those in need, quietly making a difference in the lives of others. His compassion, warmth, and genuine care for people will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Dr. John and Lisa LeClaire; sister, Sara (William) Metz; brother, Brian (Courtney) LeClaire; nieces and nephew, Nora, Charlie, and Lena; grandparents, Stephen and Marilyn Talaga; aunts and uncles, Frances Pickett, Stephen and Rose Talaga, Lori and Daniel Kill; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Malvie and Mary Frances LeClaire; and uncle, Len Pickett. A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will be announced at a later date. MEMORIALS in memory of Andy may be directed to Trout Unlimited. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
