Andrew F. "Jack" Flowers' Obituary
Mr. Andrew “Jack” F. Flowers, age 91, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at his home. He was born June 16, 1916 in Remus, MI to Andrew and Bessie (Wood) Flowers-VanBogelen and lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable Co. He married the former June Brown on December 5, 1936 and she preceded him in death in 1984 after 48 years of marriage. Jack attended Shiloh Tabernacle and was a life-member of the Muskegon Eagles 668. Jack enjoyed hunting, bowling and fishing. He was a good dancer and loved to cook. SURVIVORS include his children, Connie Johnson, Alice “Janet” (Larry) Teal, Marvin (Cindy) Flowers, Gary (Anita) Flowers, Linda Stone, Jack (Donna) Flowers, Terri (Rick) Otworth, Donald Flowers; 28 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Fern Josefowicz and Lillian Mumford; 1 brother, Leonard (Marva) Van Bogelen; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, June, he was also preceded in death by his 2 sons, Kevin Flowers in 1991, Bryan Flowers in 2003, granddaughter, Judy Sue Hammond in 1998, grandson, Mark Allen Flowers in 1967, son-in-law, James “Jimmy” Johnson in 2000, sister, Lucille Brown in 2001, brother, Marvin “Bob” Flowers in 1987 and 3 brothers-in-law. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with Rev. James L. Kolbe officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-9 PM Sunday and 2-4 & 6-9 PM Monday.
