Andy Husmann's Obituary
Andy Husmann passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Muskegon. He was born May 24, 1932, in Little Rock, Iowa, the son of Heinie & Anna Husmann. At twelve years of age, the family moved to Villard, Minnesota, where he lived until he was 20 years of age and then served in the Army during the Korean Conflict after which he attended and graduated from Bethel College and Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota and entered the Gospel ministry. He met Donna Mae Edgerton of Cayuga, North Dakota and they were married in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 12, 1959. Together they served pastorates in Coon Rapids and Fergus Falls, Minnesota and the Mona Shores Baptist Church (now Shores Community Church) in Norton Shores, Michigan. He then became the District Executive Minister of the Michigan Baptist General Conference (now Converge MidAmerica) in Grand Rapids until his retirement. Following retirement, he did interim pastoral ministries while living in Howard City, Michigan, moving back to Muskegon in 2007 where he served as the Visitation Pastor at the Mona Shores Baptist Church (now Shores Community Church) of Norton Shores, Michigan. He is survived by three sons, Tim (Robin) Husmann, Copley, Ohio, Todd (Lesa) Husmann, Muskegon, Michigan, and Torrey (Julie) Husmann, Fruitport, Michigan. Also nine grandchildren, Sarah (Wade) Rumley, Abigail (Jacob) Leffring, Lindsay (Aaron) Crawford, Olivia (Jake) Beach, Nathan, Aaron, Anna, Andrew, and Henry Husmann; seventeen great-grandchildren, Caleb, Zachary, Emma, Ziva, Faith, Elliana and Adeline Rumley, Micah, Levi Nathan, Grace, Joseph and Elsie Leffring, Adam, Elizabeth, Catherine and Sophia Crawford. He is also survived by five sisters, Anna Erickson, Mavis Maanum, Helen Lindsey, Grace Kvam and Ruth Husmann. Also five brothers, Harry (his twin), Louis, Fred, David and Paul. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents; three sisters, Janet Mostad, Nellie Anderson and infant sister. Tim, Todd, and Torrey would like to thank all of the amazing staff in the ER and on the 7th Floor at Mercy Hospital Muskegon for the wonderful care they provided to their father during a difficult time. Professional, compassionate, prompt, and so gentle with their father and truly a blessing to him and to “his boys.” Family requests that memorials be given to Shores Community Church or Muskegon County Child Evangelism Fellowship.
