Mr. Angeline Doornbos' Obituary
Mrs. Angeline “Angie” Doornbos, age 84, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her home. She was born in Muskegon on February 22, 1928 to John and Anna (Sternberg) Lintjer and was a life resident of the area. Angie was a member of Olivet Reformed Church and the HI Nabors Square Dance Club. She enjoyed gardening and had worked at Scotts Nursery and Twin Lake Nursery well into her 70’s. On October 7, 1949, Angie married Cornelius “Casey” Doornbos and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2009. She is survived by her children, Marjorie (James) McAlinden, Larry Doornbos, and Paul Doornbos; 4 grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Derek, and Kaycee; 3 step-grandchildren, Ronnette, Richard, and Daniel; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, John (Ruth) Lintjer; and 4 sisters, Mary (Mark) Thompson, Gertrude VanderKolk, Jess (Bob) Verstrate, and Ruth (Jim) Irish. In addition to her husband, Angie was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Joyce Haaksma and Edith Aney. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Olivet Reformed Church with Rev. Jim VanderMeiden officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8PM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 and 1 hour prior to the service Wednesday at church. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS in Angie’s name may be made to the Olivet Reformed Church Building Fund.
