Angeline H. "Angie" Kay's Obituary
Angeline H. “Angie” Kay, age 90, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was born in Muskegon to Franek and Helena (Pacula) Tapek. Angie graduated from Muskegon High School and started her career in banking at Muskegon Bank and Trust Company where she worked over 30 years before retiring in 1988 from First of America Bank. On September 25, 1954, she married Casimer “Casey” Kay at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2008. Angie was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for 65 years where she volunteered as the treasurer for the Women’s Guild as well as serving many funeral luncheons over the years. Angie loved music, dancing, traveling and craft quilts with Pals of the Lakeshore. Angie is survived by her 5 children, Karen (Jay) Rinehart, Edward Kay, Kathy (Tim Johnson) Kay, John Kay, and Ann (Michael) Walukonis; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Genevieve Karpowicz and Stephanie (Roger) Moore. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Edward (Esther) Tapek; 1 sister, Virginia (Edward) Davis; and 1 brother-in-law, William Karpowicz. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, September 7, 2023 in the Marian Chapel of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441, with Rev. Fr. Steven W. Geerling presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at church with the Rosary at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements are being handled by The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W.
