Anita "Nita" L. (Kiel) Sturgis' Obituary
Mrs. Anita L. Sturgis, age 62 passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 in Muskegon. She was born on August 3, 1953 to Bearl and Marie (Connell) Kiel and was a lifelong resident of the Muskegon area. Nita married Gerald “Jerry” Sturgis in 1979 and he preceded her in death December 31, 2010. She was a member of West Michigan Worship Center Church, Beta Sigma Phi and No More Sidelines, but her children were the most important part of her life. SURVIVORS include her children, Christopher and Julie Sturgis; brother, Terry (LaRaine) Kiel; sister, Karrie Kiel and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Ellis Gowell; her father, Bearl Kiel; brother, Gary Kiel; nephews, Joshua Kiel and Jonathan Stariha. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 am Friday, January 8, 2016 at the West Michigan Worship Center, 1430 Hendrick Rd., Norton Shores, Michigan 49441 with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. VISITATION will be 10-11am at church prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to No More Sidelines.
