Ann R. Chandler's Obituary
Ann Reinhardt Chandler, age 88, passed away in Norton Shores, MI, on Thursday, March 19, 2026. She was born in Hildesheim, Germany to Karl and Irma (Peine) Reinhardt on August 19, 1937, and moved to The United States when she was young. She graduated as valedictorian at Quincy High School in Washington and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Washington State University. On August 27, 1960, she married Roger Chandler, and the two of them spent 42 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2003.
Ann loved to spend time outside, particularly in her garden. She had great appreciation for beauty in plants and was a skilled flower arranger, even becoming certified in Ikebana, the ancient Japanese art of flower arrangement. Ann was very creative and artistic, skilled in knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was generous with her talents, often making clothes for the people around her. Her faith was very important to her, most recently attending Calvin Church in Norton Shores. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her family, who will miss her dearly.
Ann is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Brian (Sherri) Chandler and Michael (Teresa) Chandler; four grandchildren: Whitman (Elise) Burns, Mariel (Eric) Chandler-Nash, Anne (Joe Morse) Chandler, and Paul Chandler; six great-grandchildren: Van, Chloe, Lena, Vivian, Cora, and Theodore; two brothers, George Dunham and Robert (Josephina) Dunham; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Karl Reinhardt; mother, Irma (Robert) Dunham; husband, Roger Chandler; brother, Fred Dunham; and sister in-law, Marcia Dunham.
A Private Memorial Service will be held for Ann at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvin Church or to your local animal shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI, 49441.
