Ann Mae Meister's Obituary
Mrs. Ann Mae Meister, age 79, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on November 9, 1939 to Joseph and Mary (Baron) Skocelas and had lived most of her adult life in the Kalamazoo and Jenison communities. Ann worked for Bankruptcy Trustees for 23 years prior to her retirement. Ann loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and will be lovingly remembered as “Play-doh Grandma”. On June 12, 1965, Ann married Richard G. Meister and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1998. She is survived by her son, Richard A. (Kristine) Meister of Kentwood; three grandchildren, Taylor, Nolan, and Alexandra Meister; two brothers, Frank “Fritz” (Jan) Skocelas and Edward (Pauline) Skocelas; one sister, Bernice Stibitz; one sister-in-law, Edith Plichta and many nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her husband, Ann was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Jane Kruzel and brother, Joseph Skocelas. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held from 4-7 PM Friday, February 22, 2019 at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, 231-798-1100 with VISITATION one hour prior to her service.
