Ann Schelhas' Obituary
Mrs. Ann Schelhas, age 83 beloved wife, mother, grandmother passed away Tuesday evening at her residence, the Sanctuary at McAuley Place following a long illness. Ann was born in Muskegon on June 12, 1925 to Frank and Theresa (Puskarits) Hotwagner and was a 1943 graduate of Muskegon Hts. H.S. Mrs. Schelhas was until her retirement in 1983 employed by Muskegon Heights Public Schools as a Secretary for the Department of Special Education. Ann enjoyed reading, cooking, golfing, playing monthly canasta games with her life long friends and was a devoted member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. The former Ann Hotwagner married Mr. Robert J. “Bob” Schelhas on September 4, 1948 and he survives her along with: four children, Connie Pascavis of Norton Shores, Nancie Chandonnet of Norton Shores, Gary (Cindy) Schelhas of Ada and Rick (Pam) Schelhas of Norton Shores; five grandchildren, Lindsay (Jamie Batka) Pascavis, Luke and Leah Chandonnet, Ray (Miranda Neiser) Schelhas and Laura Schelhas; great-grandson Kolton Batka; brother, Frank Wagner of Muskegon and special friends, Bill and Arlene VanderMuelen. She was preceded in death by her: sister, Rose Elwell and brother, Joe Hotwagner.
