Mrs. Anna Kooiman Dornbos' Obituary
Mrs. Anna Dornbos, age 91 passed away Sunday afternoon, April 14, 2019 at Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake. Anna was born May 29, 1927 in Muskegon to William and Henrietta (Vander Koppel) Kooiman. On May 18, 1948 she married Edward C. Dornbos in Racine, WI. Edward and Anna owned and operated Kooiman’s Grocery Store in Muskegon Heights for 30 years. Throughout the years Anna enjoyed all the time spent with her family and will be missed by her children, Nancy (Daniel) Krueger of Holland, Sandra (John) Van Dyken of Jenison, Judy (Stan) Sikkenga of Muskegon, Peggy (Dave) Poynter of Roscommon, George (JoAnn) Dornbos and Sally (Doug) Scott, all of Muskegon; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Thompson; sisters-in-law, Donna Kooiman, Ruthetta Dornbos and Lois Dornbos; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Edward, Anna was preceded in death by their daughter, Sue Marie; a granddaughter, Misty D’Anne; her parents; and several sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Mrs. Dornbos will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 49444 (231-798-1100) with Cindy Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (10-11AM). Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Every Women’s Place Fund through the Community Foundation for Muskegon County.
