Anna Ruth Field's Obituary
Mrs. Anna Ruth Field, age 92, passed away Sunday April 2, 2017 at the Heartwood Lodge Hospice Residence in Spring Lake. She was born April 18, 1924 in Hazard, Kentucky to L.R. and Lucille (Stacy) Cornett.
Anna graduated from High School and married into the military. She travelled extensively, raising her family in the United States and Europe. While she lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 31 years, she was a data processor with the Elmadorf Air Force in Anchorage. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spring Lake and was the former president of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Eagles in Anchorage. Anna loved crocheting, reading, dancing, bowling, and playing cards.
She is survived by two daughters: Donna (Bob) Kesterson of Oviedo, Florida and Cheryl (Curt) Mohrhardt of Spring Lake; two grandchildren Grady (Tara) Shafer and Shelby Shafer, and one great grandchild Presley Anna Bella Shafer. Anna was preceded in death by her daughter Janet Bennett and her brother William Cornett.
A celebration of Anna’s life will be held from 2 – 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the American House, 17046 Lloyds Bayou, Spring Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Anna may be given to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Please sign the family’s online guest book at www.sytsemafh.com.
