Anna Galvin's Obituary
Mrs. Anna Galvin, age 58, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. She was born June 21, 1950, in Detroit to Harold and Helen (Studer) Pochik. Anna was a registered nurse for Harbor Hospice for the past 13 years. She was a member of the Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Association and in 2008 she won the Michigan Hospice and Palliative Care Dream Team Nurse Award. She was an avid quilter, birder and reader. In past years she served as the camp nurse for Camp Courage, a bereavement camp for children. On May 12, 1973, she married Dr. Michael Galvin in Detroit. He survives her along with 2 children, Brendan (Katherine) Galvin of Plainwell and Timothy Galvin of Los Angeles; 1 brother Harold Pochik; 3 sisters, Helen Mitchell, Mary Milligan and Cathi Macko. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Peggy Galvin; sister-in-law, Connie (Steve) Fapka; and brother-in-law, Dennis (Janet) Galvin. She was preceded in death by her parents.
