Anna Mae Pleiness' Obituary
Mrs. Anna Mae Pleiness, age 87, died Saturday morning, December 13, 2014 at the Poppen Residence. She was born June 21, 1927 in Scottville, MI to Axel and Kuersten (Christianson) Storm; and has resided in the Muskegon area for most of her life. She was a graduate of Muskegon Business College. Ann had been a teacher’s aide at Wesley School; and also worked at the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce prior to her retirement. She had also served her community on the Marsh Neighborhood Association. Ann was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she served on many church committees over the years; and on its school board for 15 years. She enjoyed singing, counted cross-stitch and seamstress work; and is sewing for the Angels now. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rellis Floyd Pleiness and their daughter, Carol Sue Pleiness, her parents, sister and brother. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Charlotte (George) Johnson of Norton Shores, Patricia (Terry) Wildfong of Whitehall, John Walker Blue Pleiness of Nashville, TN, Steffen Pleiness of Seattle, WA and Joy (James) Sullivan of Grand Ledge, MI; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 19, 2014 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert J. Conradt and Deacon Bud Coppel officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Ann’s children will be 5-7:00 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 South Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100).
