Anna Maria Snider's Obituary
Anna Maria Snider, age 98, passed away on December 20, 2024, at Grand Pines in Grand Haven. She was born to Hienrich and Anna (Brügger) Ploeger in Köln, Germany on January 17th, 1926. Anna’s family immigrated to the United States in 1928. On June 12, 1948, she married Frederick Willard Snider Jr. in Chicago, who preceded her in death in 2017. She worked as a loan officer for over 25 years at Midlothian Bank before retiring to own and operate the Harbor Steamer touring boat company in Grand Haven with her husband Fred. Anna was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grand Haven, where she volunteered in various capacities throughout the years. She enjoyed needlework, taking care of animals, playing Bunco and cooking for family and friends. SURVIVORS included three children: Ernst (Gwen) Snider, Mary Ann (Michael) Litviak and Stella (Robert) Kopes; 4 grandchildren: Erin, and Thomas Gilruth, Rhiannon, and Veronica Parise; three great-grandchildren: Kayley, Julia, and Perry; two great-great grandchildren: NiAyla, and Makai. Nieces: Carol Kenny and Debbie Cook. Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Ploeger, and sister Trudy Kronberg. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 1:00 PM on January 18, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church (527 Taylor Ave) with Pastor Aaron Vergin officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Ottawa County Humane Society.
