Mrs. Anna Marie Vande Voorde's Obituary
Mrs. Anna Marie Vande Voorde, age 97, passed away January 31, 2014 at the Poppen Residence. She was born in Middletown, OH on January 24, 1917 to Jacob and Bertha (Dellar) Heer. Anna was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active with the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed her friends at Knights of Columbus and Tatra Hall. Anna was an avid Muskegon Lumberjacks Hockey fan and was a proud season ticket holder. She enjoyed traveling, working at the farmers market with her brother Jack, crocheting and gardening. On July 6, 1946, Anna married Frank P. Vande Voorde and he preceded her in death in 1979. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Frank (Barbara), Joseph, Bernadette Mulder, Mary Jane (Joseph) May, and Jerome; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and her faithful Collie, Pumpkin. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gregory; 2 grandchildren, Axel Joseph and Amie Jo; one son-in-law, Bruce Mulder; one brother, Jack Heer and one sister, Mary McDonald. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 10, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. VISITATION will be from 3-5 PM Sunday, February 9, 2014 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565 with the ROSARY prayed at 4:30 PM. VISITATION will also be from 10-11 AM Monday at church. MEMORIALS in Anna’s name may be made to Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation or to Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence.
