Anna Wagenmaker's Obituary
Mrs. Anna Wagenmaker (Ter Laan), age 100, passed away from this life to the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 5, 2022. Anna was born in Reeman, Michigan on March 4, 1922 to Peter and Trintje (Jepkema) Ter Laan. She was raised on the family farm with three sisters and one brother, who all predeceased her. Anna was employed many places during her life, including JC Penney and the Consumers Power Credit Union. She was very artistic, using her skills in sewing, knitting, and especially painting. Her many paintings will be shared and cherished by her family. Family was the center of Anna’s life. She married Eli Wagenmaker on November 19, 1943, and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1995. Eli and Anna were blessed with six children. Anna is survived by five children, Thomas (Vera) Wagenmaker of Fremont, Peter (Barbara) Wagenmaker of Hudsonville, Dan (Joni) Wagenmaker of Fruitport Township, Jean (Wayne) VanderMolen of Fruitport Township, and Elaine (Michael) Weesies of Holland; 23 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren (with two more joining the family in the fall); and her son-in-law, Marvin (Diane) Tucker. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Eli; daughter, Lois Tucker; granddaughter, Amanda Jo Wagenmaker; and her parents. Anna loved the Lord and began her life worshiping at Reeman Christian Reformed Church as a child. In later years she was a member of East Muskegon CRC, First CRC and currently at Calvin CRC in Norton Shores. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Calvin Christian Reformed Church (973 W. Norton, Norton Shores, MI 49441). VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 and one hour prior to her service at Calvin CRC on Thursday. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
