Anna May Hammond's Obituary
Mrs. Anna May Hammond, age 88, passed away at home following a brief illness. Anna May was born in Muskegon on May 1, 1919 the 5th of 6 children to Peter and Angie (Poort) Buikema and was a graduate of Fruitport H.S. On July 26, 1962, the former Anna Buikema married Mr. Robert Hammond, he preceded her in death on October 11, 1997. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and retired from Old Kent Bank in Grand Haven. Anna is survived by: 2 sons, James J. Rohn of Muskegon and Daniel P. Rohn of Twin Lake; a sister, Lillian Hackney of Norton Shores; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Bev Kurant of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the Lee Chapel, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2007 Rev. Robert Conradt officiating. Visitation with the family will begin 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Fruitport Cemetery.
