Anne Clipper's Obituary
What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.
Anne Clipper, age 83, of Spring Lake and formerly of St Johns passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025. She was born May 10, 1941, in Hamburg, New York to James and Genevieve (Conrad) Brewster.
After graduating from Hamburg High, she headed to Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University. “Go Green”! Anne met her husband Tom as exchange students in Mexico. They married almost 60 years ago during a blizzard in Buffalo, NY on February 27, 1965.
Anne was a devoted mother who stayed home when her children were young. She then worked for the Census Bureau, a merchandiser for Time Magazine and ended her professional career as a sales rep for Golden Books.
Sailing, searching for Pudding stones at their cottage on Lake Huron, wintering in Gulf Shores, traveling the 50 states, cruising and vacationing with family, decorating for every holiday, especially Christmas and snowy winters in Michigan were just a few things that Anne enjoyed.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her two grandsons, Evan and Ethan. Grandma Annie was always present for every milestone, special occasion, holiday, birthday, sports game and everything in between. She was the center of our world! The one who eased our worries, calmed our fears, cheered us on and gave us so much LOVE!
Anne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas; two children: Tom Clipper, and Molly (Jason) Ferguson; two grandsons, Evan and Ethan Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Genevieve; brother, David Brewster and twin daughter, Katy Clipper.
We have been beyond blessed to have had a wife, mother, and grandmother like Anne. Her presence will be greatly missed but we know she will be taking care of us from above.
A Memorial Mass will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, February 22, 2025, at St. Patrick Church of St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Parish in Grand Haven with a luncheon to follow. Memorial Contributions in memory of Anne may be given to Gentiva Hospice. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at http://www.sytsemafh.com.
