Anneliese Monroe's Obituary
Anneliese Monroe, age 82, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Thursday, March 19, 2026. She was born in Homburg, Germany on May 28, 1943. On September 11, 1964, she married Ralph Monroe while he was in the Air Force stationed overseas. They moved to Muskegon shortly after and spent 44 years together until he preceded her in death in 2009. Anneliese loved spending time outdoors, especially camping and working in her vegetable garden. She enjoyed collecting stamps, participated in a bowling league with Ralph, and was very active in the Moose Lodge and Lithuanian Club.
Anneliese is survived by her daughter, Suann (Tracy) Rothacher, three grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, as well as her son, James Monroe, and granddaughter, Samantha Monroe.
Per Anneliese’s wishes there will be no public services taking place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442.
