Ann H. Crummel's Obituary
Mrs. Ann H. Crummel, age 95½, passed away Sunday morning, January 16, 2005. She was born to Oliver and Mary (Paquin) Therrien June 3, 1909 in St. Ignace, MI. She later married Ward Crummel on January 19, 1945 until his death December 5, 1994. Ann received her Bachelors Degree in Education from Western Michigan University and taught at St. Francis deSales, Carr, Jolman and many years in 3rd grade at Reeths Puffer Elementary. Prior to teaching in Muskegon she taught school in New Mexico. Later, she spent time in Califonia during World War II working on airplanes before returning to Muskegon and marrying Mr. Crummel. Surviving are sons, Roland Wayne (Karen) of N. Muskegon and Ronald Ward (Rusty) of Northport, MI; 6 grandchildren, Lisa (James) Clifford, Todd (Jane) Crummel, Wendy (Sam) Adamski, Holly (Joe) Wittenberg, Heather (Jeremy) Deighton and Jonathan Crummel; 8 great-grandchildren; and much loved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews. Preceding her in death was a son, John Thomas Crummel (1947) also three brothers, William, Ivan, and Gene Therrien and two sisters Alice (Kartes) and Rita (Kartes). Ann was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and currently St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and Michigan Retired Teachers Association. She loved her family, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, swimming, camping, traveling, crosswords, and especially children. All children were loved by her and she by them. VISITATION will be Thursday, January 20, 2005 at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The Rosary Service will be at 7:00 PM Thursday. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 21, 2005 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 451 S. Getty St., Muskegon. In lieu of flowers, please consider Reeths Puffer Elementary School Library or the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Building Fund.
