Anthony Quinn Amante's Obituary
Anthony Quinn Amante, age 50, of Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014. He was born July 15, 1963 in Fort Hood, Texas to Lawrence and Delores (Merrill) Amante.
Anthony graduated from Jenison High School in 1981; he received his bachelor degree from Michigan State University in 1988, and went on to complete his Master’s degree at Grand Valley State University in 1990. He married the former Donna Castle on July 16, 1991. Anthony worked as the Associate Director of EDW Development and Support at Michigan State University. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. Anthony was an outdoorsman who loved hiking, camping, vacationing and dirt bikes. He also enjoyed chess, astronomy, dancing, and his job computer programing. Anthony especially loved attending MSU football and basketball games and most of all, he loved life.
Anthony is lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna, of 23 years; daughters, Alyssa Amante and Angela (Craig) Streeter; son, Blake Amante; as well as 5 grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth, Ethan Michael, Zoey Quinn, Connor Riley, and Madalynn Makenzie. He is also survived by his father, Lawrence Amante; grandparents, Lawrence and Rose Amante, and Alvin and Rosie Merrill; sister, Tina Russell; brother, Terry Amante; and Parents-in-law, Harry and Myrl Castle. Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Ann Amante.
A memorial service will be held at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven at 11:00am on Monday, July 14 with Pastor Eric Coulon officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 13 from 2-4 PM at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven.
