Chef Anthony Gonnella's Obituary
Chef Anthony Gonnella, age 40, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at home. He was born July 15, 1974 in Dayton, Ohio to Joseph and Sheila (Reigelsperger) Gonnella.
Anthony was a trained chef and owned Anthony’s Kicked Up Catering in Grand Haven since 2009. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and enjoyed music, cars and most of all cooking, where he won numerous barbeque and culinary awards.
He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Sheila of Grand Haven; brother, Justin (Macarena) Gonnella and nieces, Valeria and Karen Gonnella of Grand Haven; grandpa, O.J. “Pappa” Gonnella; grandma, Mary Reigelsperger; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; He is also survived by many wonderful co-workers throughout his career and his dog, Baily. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Roy Reigelsperger; and his grandma, Betty “Gram” Gonnella.
A celebration of life will be held 2-5 PM Saturday, July 18, 2015 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with a time of sharing at 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions in memory of Anthony may be given to Culinary Institute of Michigan – Baker College (336 West Clay, Muskegon, MI 49440.
