To Tony and his family: I am deeply grieved at Tony's passing recently in Traverse City. We were childhood friends from Lakeside, Muskegon, we went to Bunker elementary and junir high school there. I always remember him and his Dad from the Leitgeb Hardware on McCracken Avenue, where my dad and I used to go and shop for materials to do projects. Tony always was a smiling person and a friend. I remember he asked me to help him and his Dad to deliver sale newspapers by walking around the Lakeside and Glenside neighborhoods, which seemed to be in Autumn. I remember the smell of leaf burning in the air, and the time we spent was so very happy and can never be forgotten. Sometimes I visit the old neighborhoods where we grew up there and the fond memories come back to me. I think this was the first time I ever got paid as a kid to do some thing, and back in the 1950's a couple of dollars was well appreciated. As we grew older, we went to Muskegon High school in 1960-1963, and after that we lost contact until last year. Tony sent me a shore letter with his address and fone neumber and we became re-acquianted again. I met his wife Diane for the first time in the Fall of 2015 at Platte River Cave.I also visited them several times at their Lecanto Florida home, but did not have a chance to visit them when they returned in April 2016. I am sad that I did not have a chance to visit because I myself was in hospital and nursing home in Traverse City, and then Tony was hospitalized in IC and I could not visit.I am deeply grieved and will miss his friendship very much. Thank you, from Art Caden
