Antonie Lee Colbert's Obituary
Antonie L. Colbert, in her younger years, “Toni” or later “Ann,” age 81, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024. She was born in Muskegon, MI., on October 3, 1942, to Frank and June "Kay" (Fredrickson) Happeny and raised by her mother Kay and father Mike Harjer. Ann graduated from Muskegon High School in 1960 and went on to Baker College earning a degree in Communications. Ann was a devoted mother, dedicating much of her life to her children. Ann spent much of her time with all of her children at their school events and she never missed a game. She worked for GTE as a dispatch operator until 2003, retiring after 20 years. Ann enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to yard sales, trips up north and going to the casino as well as hunting for and collecting unique rocks for her garden. She is survived by her children, Marcia Boone, Tony Asmus, Nick Asmus and Rick (Deanna) Colbert; her grandchildren, Jake (Sara) Boone, Gus Boone, Caden Dobrowolski, Kaylyn Dobrowolski, Ava Asmus, Anthony Asmus Jr., Gabrielle Asmus, Devon Asmus, Tommy Colbert and Tyler Colbert. Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynda Asmus (Burns). A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus, located at 2915 Fairfield St. Norton Shores, MI. 49441.
