Antonio Guerrero Jr.'s Obituary
Antonio “Tony” Guerrero, Jr., age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 6, 2023 at his home. He was born October 30, 1941 in Muskegon to Antonio and Isabel (Cervera) Guerrero and lived in the area all of his life. Tony was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School Class of 1959. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On September 21, 1965, he married Gail Ann Johnston in Muskegon and she survives him. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Tony was an avid Tiger’s Baseball Fan and for many years, he coached the Girl’s Varsity Softball Team at Muskegon Catholic Central. He enjoyed golfing, riding his lawnmower and worked at the community pool where he lived. Survivors include his loving wife, Gail Guerrero; his daughter, Toniann (wife, Aurora Wesley) Guerrero; 4 grandchildren, Antonio Guerrero, Marcello Weaver, Ayla Weaver, Zain Maxon; 2 brothers, Alberto (Maria) Guerrero, Tomas (Marie) Guerrero; 5 sisters, Mary (Ron) Balentine, Virginia (Mark) Hamilton, Angie (Terry) Schrebe, Linda (David) Lopez, Carmen (Jim) Sebring; 2 sisters-in-law, Joni (David) Brice, Judy Johnston; 1 brother-in-law, John (Lisa) Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Chuck Guerrero, and 1 brother-in-law, Fred Johnston. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (239 W. Clay Ave., Muskegon, MI 49440) with the Rev. Fr. Kyle Kilpatrick presiding. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass, 12-1PM Saturday at the Church. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
