Ardith Irene Beaty's Obituary
Ardith Irene Beaty, age 95, of Grand Haven passed away Friday, January 24, 2014, at her home. She was born March 5, 1918 in Weidman, Michigan to John Hayden and Lula Jane (Boyer) Moyses. She married Myron “Mike” Beaty on May 30, 1939 in Utica, Michigan, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 1991.
Ardith attended Wayne State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree. She worked as a bookkeeper for Truck Away and the Pontiac Board of Education for many years. Ardith loved traveling, reading, needlework, and crafts. For many years Ardith and her husband were avid antique collectors, specializing in Depression Glass. As the family historian, Ardith recorded genealogy spanning many generations. She also loved sharing detailed oral history, including family anecdotes, which will be treasured forever.
Ardith is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Carroll Guinn of Cedar Creek, Missouri; and Rebecca “Becky” (Gary) Wesley of Kalkaska; daughter-in-law, Elaine Beaty of Minnetonka, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren: James (Connie) Guinn and Joseph (Mary) Guinn, Jr., both of Lake Orion, Michigan, Cathleen (Terry Snavely) Pender, Cheryl Froyland, and Charles Guinn all of Missouri, Christine Iler of North Carolina, Brooke (Paul Frickling) Beaty of Fletcher, Minnesota, Shelly (Matt Evans) Beaty-Pierson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Bok Nam Beaty of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Carin (Edward) Snider of Grand Haven, and David (Miriam) Wesley of Studio City, California; fourteen great-grandchildren: Cody (Bethany) Pender, Jeremia (Jessica) Froyland, and Casy Froyland of Missouri, Jesse Pender of California, Blake Kettlehut, Brandon Guinn and Joseph Guinn, III of Lake Orion, Michigan, Samuel and John Iler of North Carolina, Alexander, Jaden, and Nathaniel Beaty of Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Sarah and Logan Snider of Grand Haven; three great-great-grandchildren: Ariella Coponi of Michigan, and Zoe and Oliver Froyland of Missouri; and her sister-in-law, Dorthy Moyses of Waterford. She was preceded in death by her son, Elwin “Butch” Beaty; two sisters, Geraldine Moyses and Beatrice “Jean” Silkwood; and her brother, John H. Moyses.
