Mrs. Arla Ruth Ogle's Obituary
Mrs. Arla Ruth Ogle, age 87, passed away Thursday evening, February 25, 2016, at an area nursing home. Arla was born May 17, 1928 in Gladwin, MI to George and Matilda (Opal) Dunn. She married Orland V. Ogle in Muskegon and he preceded her in death in 1997. Arla worked at the Henry Street Kmart for 20 years in various capacities, retiring in 1991. She had also worked at Watkin’s Pharmacy for 20 years earlier in her life. Arla was a very kind and generous person, who was outspoken when she needed to be. She loved animals and had opened her home to many throughout the years. She will be deeply missed and is survived by her adopted family of close friends and caregivers, Pam Young, Pat Young, Mary Ann Nelin, Art Konotopskiy, and Yevgeniya Chreston; her Kmart family; and her nephew, Larry Reed of Idaho. She was also preceded in death by her son, Phillip D. Ogle; 2 brothers, Floyd and Les Dunn; and a sister, Laura Reed. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE open house will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Temple United Methodist Church, 2500 Jefferson St., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Noah Project, Pound Buddies, or the Muskegon Humane Society.
