Arlaine E. Marcil's Obituary
Mrs. Arlaine E. Marcil, 86, died early Monday, October 13, 2008 at her residence. She was born Aug. 16, 1922 in Muskegon to Arthur and Winifred (Sikkenga) Haase, and lived here most of her life. She married Leonard J. Marcil Aug. 23, 1944 in Muskegon, and he died Jan. 13, 2006. Mrs. Marcil had been employed at Lakeside Department Store for many years before retiring, and was a member of Westwood Reformed Church. She is SURVIVED by her children: Phil (Carol) Marcil of Norton Shores, Lynn (Mary) Marcil of Muskegon, and Ann (Chuck) Pothoff of Muskegon; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers Harold W. (Elaine) Haase of Spring Lake and Eugene A. (Phyllis) Haase of Muskegon; and a sister, Eleanor (Kenneth) Veurink of Norton Shores; and a brother-in-law, Lyle Tester of Traverse City. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; grandsons Eric and David Marcil; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and “Billie” Marcil; and a sister-in-law Margaret Tester. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Westwood Reformed Church, 3025 Glenside Blvd. with Rev. David Willerup officiating, and interment in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Westwood Reformed Church or the Eric Marcil Scholarship Fund c/o Muskegon Community Foundation.
