With her loved ones holding her hands – hands that had cared for them these many years – hands that created beautiful works of art and piloted airplanes and built barns – Arlene Anderson slipped peacefully into His hands, her daughter Nicole and twin brother Gene surely there to welcome Arlene to her new life.
Arlene Bordeaux Anderson, 76, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the Meijer Heart Center, Grand Rapids, Mi. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on September 29, 1943 to Leo and Mabel Bordeaux. On September 10, 1965 Arlene married her soulmate Don Anderson. Arlene was a 1961 graduate of Muskegon High School and a graduate of Kendall College of Art & Design, Grand Rapids. In 1981 she co-founded WCSY-FM/AM radio, South Haven and WCSE-FM, St. Joseph, Michigan and held various corporate positions within COSY Broadcasting, Inc. Having sold the family radio interests in 1996, she then co-founded Fort Whitetail Ranch and B&B, Luther, Michigan. In 2013 Arlene and Don retired to Muskegon to be near family and friends. SURVIVORS; her husband Don; daughter Wendy (Stephen) Rice of Alexandria, Virginia; son Scott (Michelle) Anderson of Shelby Township, Michigan; sister Kathleen (Orrin) Cutler of Muskegon; grandchildren Halen, Sami, Duncan, Aidan, Drew and Shelby; Many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth, twin brother Gene who passed April 6, 2020 and daughter Nicole who passed Christmas Day, 2019. Arlene was an artist, working primarily in oils and pencil, she quilted, knitted and took beautiful wildlife photos. A joint memorial service for Arlene and daughter Nicole is planned for a later date. Arlene’s nickname is “Smiley” and those who were recipients of that smile will not soon forget.
