Arlene Griswold's Obituary
Mrs. Arlene J. Griswold, age 80, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 15, 2003 at her home. She was born February 4, 1923 to Peter and Elizabeth (Schuitema) Doctor in Muskegon, and was a life resident. She had been a member of the former East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church, and was presently a member of Hope Reformed Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #3384. Mrs. Griswold married her husband Robert L. on February 14, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1990. SURVIVORS include 6 children, Sharon L. Griswold of Muskegon, Jack R. (Linda) Griswold of Ravenna, Dennis E. (Shirley) Griswold of Montague, Brian D. Griswold of Muskegon, Janice K. (Dannie) Sullivan of Shelby, Ronald J. Griswold of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren, Jeff, Amy, Katie, Terra, Daniel, Holly, Tony, and Amanda; 3 great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Trinity, and Brenna; 1 sister, Doris (Smitty) Smith of Muskegon; a sister-in-law, Ruth Doctor of Muskegon; numerous other in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Frank, Robert, and Derk Doctor; 4 sisters, Alice Wierma, Mary Baar, Clara Baar, and Ann VanderKooi. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Friday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210, with Rev. Steven Hyma officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION at the funeral home will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday. Memorial gifts to the American Heart Association will be appreciated.
