Arlene M. Weaver's Obituary
Mrs. Arlene M. Weaver, age 92, passed away Thursday evening, May 6, 2021. Arlene was born on April 30, 1929, to Edwin and Evelyn (Rieckmann) Burke in Big Rapids, MI. She was a graduate of Fremont High School and continued her education at Hackley Hospital where she attended a nurse’s training course. On September 21, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart, Earl D. Weaver in South Bend, IN. Together they cherished 69 years of marriage full of love, laughter, and adventure. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2018. Arlene was a servant of Our Lord and Savior and was a long-time member at First Christian Church in Fremont. Both Earl and Arlene enjoyed singing from an early age, together they sang in their high school choir and also in their church choir. She was creative and artistic by nature. She loved making cards, scrap booking, knitting sewing, and country painting. She was also blessed with a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Arlene enjoyed traveling, family vacations, and camping. She and Earl especially loved camping in Canada and made a tradition of going to Sault Ste. Marie for their anniversary! She was a generous and tender-loving soul who will truly be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her 5 children, Sue Weaver of Alexandria, VA, Madelyn Leslie of Middleburg, FL, Diane (Dayna) Weaver of Mount Airy, Maryland, Julie (Bryan) York of Kettering, OH, and Leland Weaver of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Leslie, Heather (Aaron) Brisendine, Ashley York, David York and Drew Jarvis-Weaver; 2 great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Brisendine and Annabelle Brisendine. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Earl Weaver; and brother, Ernest (Beverly) Burke. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 1:00 PM at First Christian Church of Muskegon, 2755 Holton Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445. A visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
