Arnold Lee Riley's Obituary
Mr. Arnold Lee Riley, age 74, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022. He was born on May 13, 1948 to Ossie Lee and Osie Mae (McKinney) Riley in Muskegon. Arnold enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, as well as going to the casino. He was an avid fan of all Detroit teams and liked listening to Jimmy Swaggert music. Arnold proudly served his country during the Vietnam War while in the United States Army. He enjoyed visiting with fellow veterans after being Honorably Discharged. Arnold worked as a robotic engineer for General Motors in Flint, MI for almost 38 years, retiring in 2003. On August 10, 2007, he married Vannesa Cross-Riley and she survives him along with his daughters, ReShonda (Henry) Shields, Crystal Riley, Yolanda Riley; sons, Kevin Riley, Terrell Riley; step-daughter, Bernetta Cross; step-sons, Earl (Nicole) Spears Willie Bankhead II; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Riley; brothers, Dwayne (Kim) Riley, Greg (Mitzi) Riley, Kenneth Riley; aunts, Donnie Jones, Verleen Holden, Pat McKinney; uncles Lee (Sylvia) Williams, Willie Holden; half-brother, James Payne; and many more extended family and friends that Arnold cherished during his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Riley; and sister, Peggy Means. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, December 15, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14 from 5:00 – 8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial to take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
