Arthur Eddy Graham's Obituary
Mr. Arthur Eddy Graham, 89, of Spring Lake, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2013. He was born on March 9, 1924 in Flint, MI to Arthur Nelson and Elsie Everly (Eddy) Graham joining three older sisters. On September 29, 1943 he married Iva Beverley Matheson.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during WW II in San Diego, CA. He was a graduate of the General Motors Institute in Flint and worked for many years as a Sales Representative for both the Standard Oil and Pure Oil companies. His final career was with the Leigh Corporation in Coopersville. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and served on the Vestry and as a Lay Reader. As a young adult, Art enjoyed singing in a barbershop quartet, became a Mason and was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Eaton Rapids, MI. In his early retirement years he and Iva spent winters as snowbirds in Dunedin, FL and enjoyed square dancing around the Tri-Cities area and in English Mt., Tenn. He had many interests including camping, fishing, boating, golf, ham radio, playing bridge, cribbage, and following his favorite sports teams especially the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed cooking, baking bread and was famous for his lemon meringue pie.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Iva and children: Arthur Louis (Val) Graham, Daniel James (Jan) Graham, Margaret Lois (Jerry) Jensen, Julie Rose (Craig) Yoas and his grandchildren: Sarah, Matthew and Cameron Graham, Michael and Scott Jensen, Mary and Catherine Keegin, Andrea and Mackenzie Yoas, and sister-in-law: Lois Matheson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of North Ottawa and the Heartwood Lodge for their loving care of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Memorial contributions may be directed to Charity of Choice.
