Arthur Gustafson's Obituary
Mr. Arthur Gustafson Jr., 84, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at his residence. Born Nov. 15, 1924 to Arthur and Joyce (Chadwick) Gustafson, he was a life resident of the Muskegon area. On July 8, 1946 he married the former Margaret C. Mayne, and she died Aug. 12, 2004. He married Virginia Smith Pettit in June, 2005, and she survives him. Mr. Gustafson was a retiree of Shaw Walker Co. , was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a US Army veteran of World War II. SURVIVORS include his wife, Virginia; children: Glenn (Brauen) Gustafson of Fruitport, Bruce (Lisa) Gustafson of Spring Lake, Mary Schlattman and Kay (Gerald) LeMieux both of Fruitport; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Floyd (Hilda) Gustafson of Kansas; and two sisters: Audrey Gustafson of Fruitport, and Kathryn Andre of Muskegon. VISITATION for Mr. Gustafson will be 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49441, 231-798-1100; and from 11-12 Noon Thursday at The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3040 E. Evanston Ave., with the funeral service beginning at Noon. Pastor Ryan Counsell will officiate and interment will be in Sullivan Twp. Cemetery.
