Arthur L. Kieft's Obituary
Mr. Arthur L. Kieft, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. He was born on July 24, 1926 in Muskegon to Gerritt and May (McMillan) Kieft and was a life resident of the area. Art served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his military service, Art was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years before retiring in 1984. He was a long-time member of Allen Ave. Christian Reformed Church. Art was also Past President of the Muskegon Chapter for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He enjoyed fixing and repairing TV’s, radios and antennas back in the day, and was always constantly helping with Memorial Day urn placements at the local cemeteries for Muskegon Floral. On November 19, 1948 he married the former Louella Tierman and she preceded him in death on March 18, 2016 after 67 years of marriage. SURVIVORS include six children, Barbara (Richard) Robinson, Charlene (Daniel) Fairfield, Dale (Diana) Kieft, Carla Kieft, Joni (Keven) Carroll, and Pamela (Michael) Johnson; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Art was also preceded in death by his son, David Kieft in 1980; and four brothers, Harvey Kieft, Ronald Kieft, Ray Kieft, and Gordon Kieft. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Monday August, 29, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Stan Sturing officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
