Arthur Leffring's Obituary
Mr. Arthur Leffring, age 97, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017. He was born on February 3, 1920 in Muskegon to Otto and Emma (Rosema) Leffring, and resided in the area his entire life. Art was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and received two purple hearts for his time in World War II. He worked at Teledyne Continental Motors for 40 years, and was a 25-year volunteer fireman with the Muskegon Twp. Fire Department. Art was an active member of Church of the Brethren in Muskegon, and was past chaplain with the Disabled American Veterans, member of the VFW Derezinski Post #7729, and lifetime member of the Musician Union. He absolutely loved music, and was very proud to put flags out for Memorial Day at local cemeteries. SURVIVORS include two sons, Arthur (Robette) Leffring of Traverse City, and Jerry (Terri) Leffring of Muskegon; two daughters, Ardith Pierson of Montague and Nancy (Rick) Cramblet of Muskegon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and dear friend, Eleanor Deater. Art was preceded in death by two grandsons, Josh and Jordan Leffring; and siblings, Jack Leffring, Dorothy Prause, Marguerite Coon, and Phyllis Whiteman. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Sheridan Drive Baptist Church (84 S. Sheridan Dr.) with Pastor Stephen Rumley officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 AM. Memorial Contributions to the Building Fund of Sheridan Drive Baptist Church will be appreciated.
