Arthur George Riley's Obituary
Arthur George Riley, age 82, of Spring Lake passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the Leila and Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. He was born January 17, 1936, in Fairfield Township, Michigan. He married Eva Magdalena Ziel on June 17, 1961, in Banat, Michigan.
Art served his country in the Army as a cryptanalytic specialist during the Korean war. He worked as a tank engine mechanic for Teledyne Continental Motors. Art loved reading, deer hunting, being outdoors, gardening, walking, playing cards and cribbage, tinkering with his old tractor, fixing and repairing anything, and most of all spending time with his family.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Eva Riley of Spring Lake; daughter Katherine (Robert Wolff Jr.) Rockey of Hudsonville and Pinckney, MI; son Tom (Christine Marie) Riley of LaPorte, Indiana; six grandchildren: Timothy (Sarah) Riley, KateLynn (Travis) Miller, Megan Riley, Brendan Riley, Rebecca Anne Rockey, and Joseph Rockey; two great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Miller and Bentley Zavala. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Francis Riley on September 29, 1994.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Rev. David Gross presiding. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions to Mary Light of Learning or Harbor Hospice Foundation are appreciated.
