Arthur Victor Sierminski's Obituary
Arthur “Art” Victor Sierminski, age 92, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023. He was born January 4, 1931 to Frank and Mary (Styburski) Sierminski. Art attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1948. He continued his education at Aquinas College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1953 and met the love of his life. On June 26, 1954, Art married his wife Katharine Ellen (Mossett) Sierminsk in Detroit, Michigan. Art and Katharine lived most of their lives in Muskegon, Michigan where Art worked as an accountant. In 1991, Art retired from SD Warren (Sappi) after 35 years in accounting. Art attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and was involved with Habitat for Humanity and the Serra Club of Greater Muskegon. He enjoyed golfing with friends and serving at his church. Art was an avid sports fan, an eager and witty conversationalist and was proud to be a life long learner. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. SURVIVORS include five children: James (Kathleen Dawson) Sierminski of Oak Park, Illinois; Thomas Sierminski of Racine, Wisconsin; David (Patty) Sierminski of Ponte Vedra, Florida; Ellen (Jeff) Stamy of Friendswood, Texas; Jeanne (Kenneth) Willson of Dothan, Alabama; nine grandchildren: Evan Sierminski, Bryan (Emily Domschot) Sierminski, Marikathryn Sierminski, Elizabeth Sierminski, Sara (Zulfiqar) Baig, David (Katherine Taylor) Wilson, Laura (Steve) Removcik, Kathryn (Reese) Vela, Adam Sierminski; Six great grandchildren: Aydin Baig, Noah Baig, Owen Vela, Jack Removcik, Alex Removcik, and Connor Vela. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Katharine (Mossett) Sierminski, parents Frank and Mary Sierminski, and brother Fr. Vernon Sierminski. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken St, Norton Shores, MI 49441, with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions can be sent to The Muskegon Rescue Mission or Harbor Hospice Foundation. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
