Arthur "Art" Carl Bunnell's Obituary
Mr. Arthur “Art” Carl Bunnell, age 86, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in Muskegon. He was born February 18, 1925 in Muskegon to Carl T. and Louise M. (Dillabaugh) Bunnell and lived his entire life in the area. On June 16, 1956, he married the former Shirley Ann Burkett in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on September 21, 1994. Art was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at S. D. Warren Paper Mill in the core room and as a machinist for 37 years and retired in 1994. He was a member of the Lakeside Eagles and Holton American Legion. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Dale A. Bunnell of Fruitport, Michael A. (Donna) Bunnell of Muskegon, Marcia D. (Rick Schoonfield) Poore of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Earl Bunnell of Arkansas; 1 sister, Marjorie Headley of Texas; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Bunnell and Joyce Bunnell; and several nieces and nephews who helped with Art’s care. He was also preceded in death by 1 son, Patrick G. Bunnell; his parents; and 3 brothers. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2012 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210 with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. INTERMENT will take place at West Hesperia Cemetery. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Friday and 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
