Arthur "Carl" Medbury's Obituary
Mr. Arthur C. “Carl” Medbury, age 78, passed away Wednesday evening, April 12, 2006 in Muskegon. He was born September 6, 1927 to A.C. and Grace (Hoffman) Medbury in Muskegon, and lived all of his life here. He worked at Western Electronics for 26 years, and was a member of the Church of God United. Carl was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Several years ago he belonged to the YFCA where he loved to swim. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed reading and being on the computer, square-dancing and playing cards. He especially loved being with his family and friends. On August 19, 1950 Carl married Doris E. Norconk, and she survives him along with 3 children, Michael (Karen) Medbury of Muskegon, Sharon (Mark) Medbury of Norton Shores, Debbie (Jim) Koats of Grand Haven; 8 grandchildren, Heidi, Erin, Cara, Steven, Seth, Erica, Heather, and Kyle; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Jean (Merritt) Miers of Twin Lake. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Anne Koats, and his mother and father. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Church of God United, 1630 Harvey St., with Pastor Lynnette Gillett officiating. VISITATION at Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Ave.,(231) 726-5210 will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
