Arthur James Norbury's Obituary
Mr. Arthur James Norbury, age 83, passed away Friday morning, April 24, 2009, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence He was born May 2, 1925 in Niagara Falls, Ontario , Canada, to Albert and Daisy (Webb) Norbury. Arthur married the former Doris M. Thompson on October 1, 1947, in Niagara Falls , Canada. They moved to the Muskegon area in 1951. Art had worked as a powerhouse operator at C.W.C. Textron for 37 years prior to his retirement in 1987. He was a dedicated husband and father, serving many years as a Boy Scout Leader. Art loved planning and taking the family on their annual summer camping trips. Arthur is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris; 3 children, Diane Norbury of Muskegon, Brian (Bari-Ellen) Norbury of Thornton, CO, and Deborah (Michael) Clancy of Ann Arbor, MI; 4 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; 3 sisters, Margaret Roach, Dorothy Embleton, and Marlene Dunn, all of Niagara Falls, Canada; a sister-in-law, Isabel Norbury of Fairfield TX; and many nieces and nephews. Art was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frederick Norbury; and a sister, Thelma Losee. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1PM Monday, April 27, 2009, at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Chaplain Jan Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-9PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
