Arthur L. "Art" VanderVelde's Obituary
Mr. Arthur L. “Art” VanderVelde, beloved husband and father, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the age of 58. He was born February 28, 1950 in Muskegon to Dick R. and Cleora M. (Smith) VanderVelde and was a life resident of the area. Art was currently co-owner and a pattern maker for Modern Age Pattern in Muskegon which he operated the past 15 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and motorcycle enthusiast. He was a life member of the NRA, the Black Creek Regulators and past member of the International Association of Machinists. On April 5, 1969, he married the former Sylvia A. Hoagland in Muskegon, and she survives him, along with 2 sons, Chris (Tracy) VanderVelde, Eric (Amanda) VanderVelde; 5 grandchildren, Kaileigh, Jayne, Jenna, Mason, and Madison; 1 sister, Brenda (Dave) Mecher; sister-in-law, Colleen VanderVelde; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Homer A. and Sylvia Hoagland, Sr.; 4 brothers-in-law, Homer A. (Geraldine) Hoagland, Jr., Marv (Carmen) Hoagland, Garry (Cindy) Hoagland, Bob (Chris) Hoagland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emily Jayne VanderVelde in 1999, his parents and 1 brother, Les VanderVelde. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 7, 2008 at
